Jamaal Abdul-Alim is a veteran newspaper reporter who has covered crime, K-12, higher education and a variety of other topics in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. His articles have appeared in astronomy.com, Source Magazine, the Employment & Training Reporter, and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. He is a member of both the Chess Journalists of America and the United States Chess Federation. He has one daughter, Hadiyah, age 9.
