1. When will I hear if my application has been accepted?
If you are accepted, you will receive an email from us confirming your registration within two weeks of applying. We plan to notify all applicants by July 23, 2012. Only attendees with confirmed registrations will be permitted to enter the conference.
2. Can I attend if I disagree with the views expressed by Campus Progress?
Of course! We believe that a diversity of viewpoints enhances the conference.
3. Do I need to be a student to attend the conference?
No. Campus Progress works with students, non-students, and former students. The conference is primarily for young people ages 18 to 35.
4.Do I need to attend both days, or can I come for just one, or even part of a day?
We would like you to participate in the training day and national conference, and your interest in attending both days will be a positive factor (but not the only factor) in deciding whether you are admitted to the conference, which fills to capacity every year. However, we understand that some of you won’t be able to attend both days. So if you apply, we ask you to commit to the full day of activities. Partial days are challenging for us to implement logistically.
5. What should I wear?
The dress code for conference attendees is casual, and in past years attendees have worn everything from suits to t-shirts. You may dress as you wish. Conference rooms may be cooler than outside temperatures, which average 80°F during the summer.
6. Where is the conference and how do I get there?
The Campus Progress Training Day, on July 25, will be held at our office at the Center for American Progress (1333 H Street NW, 10th Floor, Washington, D.C.). Our office is around the corner from the McPherson Square station on the Blue/Orange line and two blocks from the Metro Center station on the Red Line.
The 2012 Campus Progress National Conference on July 26 will be held at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Metrorail station on the red line. There will be signs for the conference when you enter the hotel lobby.

7. I’m interested in carpooling or finding out if there are others from my school and/or area that are attending the conference. Can you connect me with other attendees?
We would love to help connect you with others in your area who are attending the conference. We encourage you to carpool and/or get together while you are in D.C., to share your ideas and strategies for local issue campaigns, and to meet with other progressives from your area. To find others from your area, you can check out our Campus Progress Facebook fan page and post on the group’s discussion board (we recommend including your city and state in the subject line).
8. How much will it cost to attend? Are there scholarships available for travel and housing?
The conference, and food provided during event hours on both days, is free of charge for all attendees. The cost of the conference per attendee is about $200.00. If you are able, we would really appreciate any donations you can contribute. You are responsible for your own travel and accommodations. Campus Progress no longer has any travel or housing scholarships available.
9. Where should I stay?
Many area hotels have easy access to the conference site by Metrorailor bus (you can use the Metro website to plan your trip).

10. Is Campus Progress working on ways to make the conference more environmentally conscious this year?
Heck yes! Campus Progress will make extra efforts to implement waste reduction and recycling programs on-site, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of the conference. We strongly encourage attendees, especially in arranging their travel, to do the same.
11. I think I was nominated to attend. How would I know? What do I do now?
If you are nominated and accepted, Campus Progress will notify you via email with instructions on how to proceed. If you are unsure whether you were nominated and/or accepted, we invite you to submit the regular application.
